Can I change or create new "Skins"? Yes! Our skins are simply sets of HTML pages with "embedded markers" that are read in by the store engine and replaced with information from the store's database (like the product's name). If you know HTML and have access to an HTML editor, you can easily change our skins or create your own.
Can I convert QstorePlus! to another language? Yes! QstorePlus! was designed from the ground up so it could be easily converted to other languages. Everything that appears in English (in both the online store and the web administration system) is stored in HTML and text files. If you convert the images, HTML files, and text files, then your store will be running in the new language. Since QstorePlus! is a text based system, you cannot convert it to a language that does not use the standard alphabet.

NOTE: if you are NOT planning on using the real-time credit card processing feature (during customer checkout) and will simply have the store record the customer's credit card information for later manual processing, then you can use ANY merchant account and ANY gateway account you prefer. A compatible QstorePlus! gateway is only required by those customers who have hundreds of orders each week and require the convenience of the automated real-time processing during customer checkout. 1) Check with your current hosting company to see if they are a member of our Certified Hosting Partner Program. If they are, and your web site is running on the correct type of server, then you should be able to purchase or rent the software through them. They will take care of installing the software and your QstorePlus! license file onto your web site.
2) If your web hosting company is NOT part of our Certified Hosting Partner Program, but is hosting your web site on the correct type of server, then you may order your very own copy of our software from this web site. You or your web hosting company will then need to install the software onto your web site. Once that is done, we will install the QstorePlus! license file for you. Unlike other shopping cart systems, QstorePlus! is written in C++ and compiled into machine language for the target server platform. This allows QstorePlus! to run at the machine language level which maximizes speed and minimizes server overhead. Since it's compiled, QstorePlus! does not have be read in and parsed each time it is run on your web site (like other shopping carts written in Perl, Miva Script, PHP, or ASP).
Does QstorePlus! run on FreeBSD servers? No sorry. QstorePlus! only runs on Linux based servers (intel platform).

Does QstorePlus! support PayPal? Yes we sure do. We support their traditional web payment system.
How often are new QstorePlus! versions released? We release new versions of QstorePlus! once or twice a year. When we do, we post a notice at the top of our web site's home page - be sure to check back every month or two to see if a new version has been released. If you are interested in the new version, please contact your web hosting company regarding upgrading your store to the new version.
How do I know what was added to a new version of QstorePlus!? When we release a new version, we list the new features and fixes contained within it.
Is there a price to upgrade to a new version of QstorePlus!? If the new version is a maintenance release (e.g. v3.0 to v.3.0a), there is no charge. If the new version is a version release (v3.0 to v3.1), then an upgrade fee applies to end-users.

How hard is it to install QstorePlus!? Installing QstorePlus! is a very simple task provided you or your web hosting provider has root access to the server (via Telnet or SSH) and is familiar with typing and executing Linux commands. This does require Linux web server administration experience and root level access to the server's command line.
Can QstorePlus! send notifications to me that a customer order was placed? Yes. In the Basic Store Administration, you may configure up to three "Private" email addresses that will automatically receive a copy of the customer's order confirmation email. This email will be sent when the customer's order is placed and will contain all the order information including customer's name, address, contact info, date and time, items ordered, order total, shipping selections, etc..
What outgoing (SMTP) server does QstorePlus! require? By default, QstorePlus! uses Sendmail as the outgoing email server. The email server software needs to be installed on the same web server as QstorePlus! and there is a setting within the store that tells QstorePlus! where to find this program.
NOTE: if your server is NOT really using sendmail (e.g. Qmail, Exim, or some other email program), you will need to change one more setting in the store in order for confirmation emails to be sent correctly. Under "Store Preferences" on the store's Main Menu, there is a setting called "SMTP Server Type". Change this setting from "Sendmail" to the correct outgoing email server type. If your email server is not listed, click the "Other" option.
Does QstorePlus! support electronic delivery of products? Yes, through the use of what we call "Thank you page notes". Each product can display unique information on the Thank You Page that appears at the very end of the checkout process (after payment).
This allows the Thank You Page Notes to be used to display download locations, passwords, or whatever is unique for each product ordered so the customer may access and/or download the file/image/document/song, etc...
If I move my store to another host, can I take the QstorePlus! license file with me? If you obtained your license directly from us (not from a reseller), then you may host your web site and store anywhere you like as long as the web server is compatible with QstorePlus!.
When purchased directly from us, the license file may be transferred from one hosting location to another. However, licenses obtained from resellers are not transferable and may only be used on the servers provided by the original hosting company.
I installed the new version of QstorePlus!, but I cant see the real-time shipping modules for FedEx and UPS. Where are they? They are located on the store's Main Menu just underneath of the "Shipping for International Orders" menu item. However, since these are optional features, the real-time shipping options won't appear in your licensed store unless they are activated in the store's license file. You need to arrange to have your store's license file upgraded and reinstalled in order to activate these features.
PLEASE NOTE: UPS and FedEx Real-time shipping calculations are OPTIONAL store features that may NOT be available for all stores. Check with your hosting company to make sure this feature is available for use on their servers.
